Lucille Evelyn Ruck, 101, of Burlington, IA, died Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Great River Klein Center, West Burlington, IA. Born April 1, 1914, in Pomeroy, IA, she was the daughter of John Edward and Sarah Florence Sanquist. On October 14, 1939, she married Richard Joseph Ruck in Pomeroy, IA.

Lucille grew up in Pomeroy. After graduating from High School, she went on to earn a double major in Music and English at Buena Vista University, Storm Lake, IA. She was a celebrated vocalist and pianist; an accompanist for many plays, recitals, men’s Barbershop Singers and various singing groups; she was a master seamstress working with materials from around the world; a craftswoman using the finest wool yarns for English afghans; she was an office manager and teacher substitute for Burlington Catholic Schools for a number of years; a member of St. Patrick’s Church; past president and member of DCCW and Altar and Rosary Society. Lucille and Dick loved to travel and saw much of the world on their many trips. Lucille, known for years as “Banny” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, was attentive and loving and enjoyed her time with them. They were all crazy about their “Banny”. She was indeed gifted during her long life with a wonderful family and many talents.

Her survivors include: Daughter Patricia L. Fleming and her four children; Catherine Mary (Molly) Hrabrich (David) of Lisle, IL, and their children, Kayleigh Patricia, and Chloe Lucille; Sean Finnegan Fleming (Elizabeth) of Hoffman Estates, IL, and their children John Finnegan (Jack) and Quinn Joseph; Ryan Patrick Fleming (Angela) of Streamwood, IL, and their children Patrick Joseph and Thomas Ryan; Christopher Griffin Fleming (Corrie) of Baltimore, MD and their children, Finneas Eric and Selby Noa.

Daughter Jo Ann Corredato (James. A.) and their three children; Jennifer Lynn Sowers (Jeffrey) of Chesapeake, VA, and their children Alexander James and Bradley David; Julie Christine Corredato of Bethlehem, PA and her children Liam James Hughes and Sean Joseph Hughes; John Joseph Corredato (Ann) of Sherman, IL and their children MaryKatherine Ann, Michael Anthony, Sophia Ann and Claire Ann. A sister, Pauline (John) Leighton of Minneapolis, MN; and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, husband Richard, sister Mrs. Mabel Bowen, brother Dr. George Sanquist and son-in-law Joseph Fleming.

The Wake Service officiated by Fr. David Steinle will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home, 3940 Division St., Burlington, IA, followed by visitation with family present until 7:00 PM.

Private burial at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery will take place on Tuesday. A memorial has been established for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Condolences may be left at www.prughthielencares.com.
