Amber Rae Ludens

Amber Rae Ludens, 41, of Burlington, passed Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born May 12, 1981, in Ottumwa, IA, she was the daughter of Rennie M. and Rae A. Brown Ludens. 

She was a 2002 graduate of Burlington High School. 

Amber attended Harmony Bible as a young child until she lost her sight. Amber was the poster child for Cerebral Palsy. Her language of love was physical touch. She enjoyed car rides, swimming and eating. Most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her family.  Amber was very special to many people. She had taught many people what is important in life and how to show love and compassion no matter the person's appearance or disabilities. 

Survivors include her parents Rennie and Rae of Burlington; brother, Jonathan (Meredith) Ludens of Mediapolis; grandmother, Marcella Ludens of Springfield, SD; aunts & uncles, Deb and Lyle Massner of Morning Sun, Wally (Elaine) Brown of Minnesota, and Richie (Cindy) Ludens of Springfield, SD; two nephews, Lance and Graysen Ludens; step-niece & nephews, Eli, Jacob and Amelia Grier and many cousins. 

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, John C. Ludens, Charlotte and Sharel Redmon and Gale and Marion Brown. 

Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division St.,.

The funeral service for Amber will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division St.,. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Apostolic Christian Church in Burlington following the burial.

Memorials have been established for Camp Courageous and Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
