Amie L Rupert

Amie L. Rupert, 41, of Burlington, died at 1:47 am Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Born November 26, 1979, in Burlington, she was the daughter of William Clyde and Janet Rupert.

Earlier in life she worked in the daycare at the bowling alley, was a teachers assistant in the Burlington School System and also at Walmart.

On October 1, 2018 she was committed to the love of her life, Roger Brockett Sr. She loved all animals, and working with children. She was an extremely giving person, and always put the needs of others in front of her own. She liked to play cards and board games with friends, especially Monopoly. Amie was very social, and loved to go out to eat or find somewhere fun to sing Karaoke with Amanda and Uncle Glenn. 

Survivors include mother, Janet Rupert of Burlington; significant other, Roger Brockett Sr. of Burlington; sister, Misty Richers of Burlington; one niece Cameron Bowan and one nephew Ruben Bowman Jr., both of whom she loved very much, two sons, Roger (Lori) Brockett, Jr., and Hogan Brockett of Lomax, IA; three daughters, Billie Jo Lamberston of Gladstone, IL, Amanda Brockett of Stronghurst, IL, Amber Brockett of Lomax, IL; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; Randy and Richard Rupert and many other extended family members and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her father, William Clyde, paternal grandparents Clyde Rupert and Ruth Ann Skapnit; and her maternal grandparents Wayne Oakman and Ida Belle Oakman.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The visitation will be Friday, July 16, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM  with the family to receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
