Amy Denese Unglaub, 63, of Burlington, died peacefully Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at her home.
Amy was born March 6, 1960, in Sioux City, IA. She is a 1978 graduate of Burlington Community High School and attended Southeastern Community College. Amy worked at Gypsi on Jefferson and its sister stores in Downtown Burlington for over ten years. She was a dedicated member of Bethany Lutheran Church, serving on the Property, Stewardship, Evangelism, Fellowship, Christian Education, and Library committees. She enjoyed crafting, especially needlepoint and fiber art. Amy especially loved her cats, her church family, and her abundance of friends. All who knew and loved her will miss her kindness and generosity.
Amy is survived by her sister, Sheri (Leon) Williams, and her nieces, Stephanie and Hannah (David Spencer) Williams. Her son, John Frederick Willson, and her parents, Evelyn Mae (Bates) and John Frederick Unglaub, preceded her in death.
A memorial service celebrating Amy's life will be held on Thursday, November 9, at 10:30 AM at Bethany Lutheran Church (2515 Madison Avenue, Burlington). Visitation will be held before
the service, also at the church, from 9:30 - 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bethany Lutheran Church or the Des Moines County Humane Society.
Please continue to keep Amy's family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
