It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Jean (Bowling) McPherson, age 78, who left this world on June 26, 2026.
Born on Sunday, March 21, 1948, in Burlington, Iowa. She was the cherished daughter of Lawrence and Mary Louise (Powell) Bowling. Barbs journey through life was highlighted by the love she shared and the bonds she formed, especially these last few years with her Hospice Teams.
On March 23, 1970, she married the love of her life, Greg McPherson, in Smithfield, NC. Together, they shared two sons, Robert and Brandon, and became grandparents to three grandsons: Gregory, Jeremy, and Jarod. And great grandparents to: Shawna and Kinslie. Each of them hold a special place in their hearts.
Barb spent the majority of her life in the sun-kissed deserts of Arizona however, she created lasting memories and cherished friendships in Iowa and Illinois as well.
Her career as a pristine meat wrapper in local grocery stores showcased her dedication and sincerity of helping customers find the best cuts of meat!
In the last 25 months, Barb was enveloped with the love and compassion of her Hospice Teams in both Arizona and Iowa, her loving family and friends who provided her with wonderful support during her time of need. Their kindness mirrored the love she shared throughout her life.
May her memory live on in your heart and inspire you to carry forward her gifted spirit.
