Barbara Warth Obituary

Barbara Marlene Warth, 80, of Burlington, died Monday, April 28, 2025, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center.

Born February 11, 1945, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Winton and Frances Maxine Poggemiller Metzger. On November 22, 1997, she married Gary Alan Warth in Mediapolis. He passed on April 4, 2011.

She attended Yarmouth High School and later graduated with a GED. She worked for Winegard in Burlington for 35 years. She was a faithful member of the Mediapolis Methodist Church. 

She enjoyed Bible study & Daily Devotionals (Our Daily Bread, The Upper Room), watching T.V. & online shows (nature, Christian, drama, game, online preaching), driving into town, trips to Amana, and mowing the lawn on the riding lawn mower. Barbara loved spending time with friends and family. She will be remembered for her sweet, kind, caring, giving, loving heart and for her joyful laugh. 

Survivors include three sons, Monte (Shelley) Dill, Steven (Abigail) Dill, and Gregory Dill; three stepsons, Kevin (Sarah) Warth, Shawn Warth, and Mark (Karin) Warth; two stepdaughters, Amy Rieckens, and Natalie (Jonathan) Whisler; three grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; one brother, Donnie (Sherri) Metzger; and sister-in-law, Pauline Metzger.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Metzger, and Richard's daughter Sherry (John) Marshall.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.  

Memorial contributions in Barbara's memory are suggested to the Mediapolis Methodist Church; Kayla's Cupboard; and Hospice.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
