Beth Bickford, 87, of West Burlington, died at 6:00 AM Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born April 9, 1934, in Des Moines, IA, she was the daughter of Russell and Ann Ridley Thomas. On August 12, 1951, she married Floyd Junior Bickford in What Cheer, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2011.
Ann worked in retail for 30 years.
She was a graduate of What Cheer High School.
She enjoyed cooking and gardening and spending time at home. She liked bowling, and loved all animals, especially cats and birds, and feeding the squirrels in her yard. She was a big fan of the Cubs. Most of all, she loved her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Nyla Bickford of West Burlington; three sons, James (Lori) Bickford of Davenport, IA, Jon (Linda) Bickford of Ottumwa, IA, Paul (Angela) Bickford of Maryville, MO; 6 grandchildren, Sara (Ross) Ingwersen of Norwalk, IA, Elizabeth Bickford of Chicago, IL, Ryan (Kristen) Bickford of Winter Park, FL, Collin (Kaitlyn) Bickford of Alexandria, VA, Nicole (Anthony) Gonzalez of Lee's Summit, MO, Reece Bickford of Maryville, MO; five great grandchildren, Skylar, Rylee, Demi, Kolbie and Haylee; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jack.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
There will be a private family service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the West Burlington Fire Department, as well as the Des Moines County Humane Society.
