Beverly Brown

Beverly Jane Brown, 94, of Burlington, died Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born December 19, 1929, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Alden and Adeline McCready Gladman. On November 16, 1947, she married Willis Reed  in Grace United Methodist Church in Burlington. He died on August 6, 2022.

She was a 1947 graduate of Burlington High School. 

She loved mother nature, and especially enjoyed flower gardening, and working outdoors.  She worked with her husband as his partner in anything he was working on.  She was a devoted wife and mother. 

Survivors include his son, Tim (Sue) Brown of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Cheryl (Dennis) Clawson of Burlington; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Todd Brown, one grandson, Dawson Brown, brother, Gerald "Gary" Gladman; and two sisters, Ila Gladman and Leah Smith.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The memorial service for Mrs. Brown will be 11:30 AM Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.  A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh Funeral Service following the service. Burial will be in South Walker Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
