Bonnie Scheller

Bonnie L. Scheller, 100, of Springfield, died Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Allure of Knox County in Galesburg, Il.

Born February 7, 1923, in Newton, KS, she was the daughter of Joseph O. and Mary O. Miller Brown. On June 10, 1941, she married Irwin Carl in Newton, Kansas. He died on May 30, 1978.

She had a great passion and loved her work as a beautician. She worked with many clients in Anderson, IN and Springfield, IL for years, until retiring in her 70's.

Bonnie was a member of the Church of God in Springfield and very involved for many years. She enjoyed tracking the weather and liked to do puzzle books and coloring pages. She loved baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs. Most of all, Bonnie loved her family and taking trips to Iowa and Alaska to visit them. 

Survivors include her daughter, Dee (Robie) Levitt of Burlington; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; dear friends, Linda Canter of Springfield, IL and Maxine Boston of Girard, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Susan Matteson, great-grandson, Cory Levitt, two brothers, Naaman and Jess Brown, and one sister, Mary Ruth Libhart. 

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be no services at this time. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield at a later date.
