Brian Macans, 34, of Middletown, died Friday, October 2, 2020.
Born May 5, 1986, at Fort Hood in Killeen, TX, he was the son of Heinrich "Rick" and Lisa A Brissey Macans. On July 10, 2010, he married Cassandra "Cass" Marie Broeg in Geode State Park.
Brian was a 2004 graduate of West Burlington High School.
He was an operations manager for Pepsi-Cola for 15 years.
Brian enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing and mushroom hunting. He was a member of Duck's Unlimited. He was a fan of NASCAR, especially Kyle Busch, the Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Chicago Cubs. He liked to do hands-on projects like gardening and making salsa. He also liked to grill out and socialize. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Cass Macans of Middletown; children, Linkoln and Penelope Macans at home; parents, Rick and Lisa Macans of West Burlington; sister, Heather (Joe) Mutchler of Burlington; nephews, C.J. and Blake Mutchler of Burlington; maternal grandparents, Russ and Bette Brissey of West Burlington; paternal grandmother, Marie Macans of West Burlington; aunts and uncles, Bill (Shelly) Brissey, Mike (Wendy) Brissey Jack (Theresa) Brissey, George (Gina) Macans, James Macans, Jan Brissey, and Birgit Brissey; several cousins and numerous friends he had made over the years.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Heinrich, Sr.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2020 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mr. Macans will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Harmony Bible Church-Danville Campus with Denis Manes officiating. Cremation will be entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory following the service. A procession around Geode and Brian's favorite hunting spots will follow the funeral.
Memorials have been established for the continued education of his children.
