Buddy Casey

Buddy A. Casey, 87, of Oquawka, died Friday, October 6, 2023, at his home.

Born October 13, 1935, in Bingham, IL, he was the son of Levi Thomas and June Eileen Meyer Casey. On March 14, 1959, he married Carol Davis in Illinois. 

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Nantahala.

Buddy worked as an ironworker for the Local 393 out of Chicago for many years. He later work as a carpenter. 

Buddy was an avid reader. He also enjoyed playing chess and cards, especially with his friends on thirsty Thursday. He loved his family and enjoyed the Casey Family Reunion. 

Survivors include his wife, Carol Casey of Oquawka, IL; son, Denis (Eveliane) Casey of Oquawka, IL; four grandchildren, Denis Casey, Jr., Kenny (Gabby) Casey, Shelby (Charley), and Heaven (Malachi);  five great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Wanda Casey of Oquawka and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Joseph, Ronald, Larry, and Terry; two sisters Ramona (Richard) Wilson, and Gwen (Bill) Forrester.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The Celebration of Life for Buddy will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Oqauwka Masonic Lodge #123 in Oqauwka, IL.
