Carl J. "Jim" Blackburn, 64, of Niota, IL died at 3:09 AM Sunday, October 24, 2021.
Born January 2, 1957, in Rockford, IL, he was the son of Carl Jennings and Velma Lee Lewis Blackburn. On December 18, 2004, he married Shayla M. Amenell in Kahoka, MO.
He was a mechanic and production worker for Dial for several years.
He was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church in Fort Madison. He enjoyed working on cars, going to car shows, mushroom hunting, fishing, going on the river, and listening to oldies music.
Survivors include his wife; four children, Michael Amenell of Dallas City, IL, Ashley Amenell of Burlington, Brandon Bolander of Castle Rock, CO, Brooke Amenell of Burlington; 10 grandchildren, Jada, Madison, Nathan, Carter, Kamryn, Taylor, Vivienne, Jaxx, Saphyra, Bentley; sister, Terry (Tammy) Blackburn-Archer of Cedar Rapids, IA; two aunts Vena Lou Tallman and Berneta Lewis both of Lancaster, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 uncles Charles Lewis and Berle Lewis.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the 7th Day Adventist Church in Fort Madison. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for 7th Day Adventist Social Services, donations can be sent to the church at PO Box 306 Fort Madison, IA 52627.
