Connie Louise Heuvelmann, 76, of Burlington, died Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born August 11, 1948, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Clifford and Marge Beckman Gittings. On August 3, 1974, she married Edward Joseph Heuvelmann at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Burlington. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2007.
She graduated from New London High School in 1966 and graduated from SCC in 1968.
Connie worked as a secretary in Nursing Administration for the Burlington Medical Center and later for Great River Medical Center for 40 years.
She was a member of the Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Connie enjoyed gardening, antiquing, reading, baking, and most of all loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include mother, Marge Gittings; son, Matthew E. (Heather) Heuvelmann of Burlington, three grandsons, Carson James Heuvelmann, Brady Matthew Heuvelmann both of Burlington, Daniel Allen Topping of Iowa City, IA; granddaughter, Megan Marie Topping of Minot, ND; sister, Ramona (John) McCarty of Austin, TX; numerous nieces and nephews including her special nephew, Brandon (Lynn) Gittings of Reed Point, MT.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father and brother, Richard E. Gittings.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Southeastern Iowa Regional Home Health and Hospice.
