Dana Schlag Obituary

Mr. Dana Ray Schlag, 67, of Burlington, IA passed away on January 7, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born on August 24, 1957, he was the son of Rosalie Craigmiles Schlag Kendall and Frederick Schlag. Dana married Yvonne. They later divorced.

Dana attended school in West Burlington until 3rd grade when the family moved to Mediapolis. Following their move, he and his brothers attended Mediapolis school.

For the last 13 years he worked at Federal Mogul. Dana enjoyed music, good conversation, and a great bargain.  He had many friends.

Survivors include his mother, Rosalie Kendall; three brothers, Bill (Kathy) Schlag of Forsyth, IL, Martin Schlag of Minot, ND, and Ronald (Kathy Cole) Schlag of Media, IL; his best friend, Alan Klein of Orlando, FL; aunt, Byrl Rhoads of Granite City, IL; several cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Dana was preceded in death by his father, Fred Schlag and baby brother, John Frederick Schlag.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The memorial service for Mr. Schlag will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. 

A memorial has been established for a headstone for Dana's final resting place.
