David Kimmel

David Kimmel, 79,  of Citrus Springs, Florida, formerly of Burlington, Iowa, entered Heaven's gates on January 17, 2021.

He was a U.S. Veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corps.

David was a born again Christian who was a member of New Life Church in Burlington and New City Church in Cedar Rapids, IA.  David was well liked by many and was known for his warm smile and his Donald Duck imitation. 

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Kimmel of Citrus Springs, FL; 2 daughters, Dana (Duane) Brown and Jill (Sonny) Clayton; 3 brothers, Joe (Burlington) ,George (West Burlington) and Lonnie (Bolivar, Mo); 3 sisters Florence White (Coralville), Lois Swank (Washington, IA) and Barb Siefken (West Burlington); 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and 1 great grandson.  

The memorial service for Mr. Kimmel will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 12, 2021, at New Life Family Church. Full military honors will be rendered by the Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps League, Detachment 616. 

A memorial for the Young Marines has been established and will be given to the group through David's family.
