David C Vahle

David C Vahle, 57, of Burlington, died at 4:42 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

Born February 14, 1965, in Burlington, he was the son of Robert Lee Heller and Emma Vahle Bruhl.

He farmed for a few years, and spent several years as a truck driver. 

He was a true handyman, who loved working on all kinds of engines and could fix anything. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved camping and fishing, and enjoyed spending his free time on the river. He liked to play the drums, and most of all he loved his family and pets, and loved playing with his grandkids. 

Survivors include two sons, David (Natalie) Vahle of Coralville, IA, and Lakota Vahle of Burlington; step-daughter, Sabrina (Josh) Miller of Burlington; step-son, Trenton Brown of Burlington; significant other, Cassandra Sills of Burlington; aunt, Jean (Dave Stamper) Day of Burlington; and three grandchildren, Oliver Vahle, Remington Miller, and Kaizer Pedigo-Chavez.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be a Celebration of Life for David at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for his son Lakota.
