Delores Kay Sattler

Delores Kay Sattler, 87, of West Burlington, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.

Born January 4, 1939, in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of Eugene and Frances (Cronk) Gallagher. On July 5, 1959, she married Neil Harry Sattler in Wayland, MO. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1991.

Delores was a homemaker and excelled at keeping her family taken care of.

Delores was a staunch member of Heritage Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, and was known for baking cranberry orange bread and her famous anise cookies, sponge candy, and pineapple upside down cake. She loved genealogy, playing cards and games, crocheting, and doing yard work. She took great pride in mowing her grass and shoveling her own driveway. She was very family oriented and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. 

Survivors include one son, Rick (Kristi Chambers) Sattler of Oxford, IA; one daughter, Cindy Kay (Dave) Macomber of Montrose; two grandchildren, Sarah Macomber and Neil Macomber both of Montrose; three sisters, Jeanne (Tom) Bolander of San Antonio, TX, Linda L. (Jim) Allely of AL, and Mary F. Fanning of Burlington; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Doris Ghrist (her twin), Sue Philpott, Sandy Bonneson, and Joyce Hester; infant sister, Julie Gallagher; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation with the family to receive friends will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, August 14, 2026 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The funeral service for Delores will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 14, 2026, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street with Pastor Brad Cranston officiating.  Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Heritage Baptist Church.
