Dennis Harold Horn, 76, of Burlington, died at 10:52 AM Monday, November 30, 2020, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born August 28, 1944, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Harold and Florence Koller Horn.
He graduated from Fort Madison High School. Dennis briefly attended auctioneering school before settling on a career more suited to his life-long passion for cars.
He worked as a self-employed car salesman, as well as used tires salesman.
Dennis loved to work on cars, go car shopping, attend car shows, and collect hubcaps and die-cast car and truck models. When he wasn't working on or admiring cars, he liked to drive them - especially to get Dunkin' Donuts and Perkins- and was known to have a lead foot. Dennis liked to travel and had a keen sense of direction. Dennis was a big-hearted person with a gentle soul who cared for everyone. He was always ready to help. He loved his family and was happiest when spending time with them.
Survivors include his children: Cyndee Meyer of Burlington, Keith (Amanda) Horn of Burlington, Janice (Dan) Horn of Fort Madison, Kris Horn of Burlington, and Julie (Levi) Hamilton of Burlington; 16 grandchildren: AJ, Tasha, Chris, Arial, Dylon, Aaliyah, Avarie, Aynsley, Kamdyn, Tyler, Conner, Crystal, Jonathan, Gavin, Isaac and Allyson; five great-grandchildren; two siblings: Greg (Dollie) Horn of Fremont, IA and Debbie (Ted) Beuchel of Fort Madison; nieces and nephews, Phil, Liz, Paul and Jennifer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunt Juanita, and grandparents.
The funeral service for Mr. Horn will be 1:00 PM Friday, December 4, 2020, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Ft. Madison. Due to COVID 19 restrictions social distancing and mask will be required.
