Dennis Lynn Ramseyer

Dennis Lynn Ramseyer, 76, of Burlington, IA, died Friday, August 28, 2026, at his home.

Born June 25, 1950, in Ottumwa, IA, he was the son of Charles Samuel and Lois Kathryn Hecker Ramseyer. On January 8, 1988, he married Joyce Ann Brockert in Iowa City, Iowa. 

He graduated from Davis County High School and later Kirksville College.

Dennis was an avid woodworker and made beautiful pieces for his friends and family.  He looked forward to the solitude of fishing and being able to relax and reflect in the solitude of nature.  During the summer, Dennis looked forward to camping, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and in the fall and winter, the Hawkeye football and basketball teams.

Dennis loved his family tremendously. He cherished the time that he was able to spend with his wife Joyce, his children, and grandchildren.  His passing leaves a deep sadness, but his memory will continue through all who love him.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ramseyer of Burlington; two daughters, Paula West of Coralville and Amy Ramseyer of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Lydia, Fisher, Olivia, Callista; and brother, Larry Ramseyer of Altoona. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Justin Ramseyer, parents, brother, Paul Ramseyer, one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law.

There will be no visitation or services.
