Donald Junior Bowman, 72, of Burlington, died Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born October 8, 1952, in Burlington, he was the son of Donald and Alberta "Ruby" Saldeen Bowman. He married Peggy Graham and they later divorced. He later married Connie Burtlow before their divorced.
Donald worked for the gypsum plant as an undergrounds man until his early retirement. He also worked many odd jobs, from painting and construction to mowing yards.
He enjoyed fishing, driving and listening to oldies, and sitting by the river. Donald could be found at auctions, 34 Raceway or riding his Harley. Most of all he loved his family and cherished his grandchildren.
Survivors include his finance of 29 years, Jane Nims of Burlington; six children, Jessica Baker of Burlington, Jeremy Bowman of Burlington, Mindy Bowman of Missouri, Jeannie Matlick of Marion, IA, Jamie Eastman of Kirkwood, IL, and Destiny Bowman, of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three siblings, Kathy (Jeff) Steormer, Chucky (Shirley) Bowman and Tina Dowming all of Burlington; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin sisters, Deloris Ruble and Doris Bernhart.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
