Donald L. Pierson

Donald Lee Pierson, 93, of Burlington, died Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Don was born October 19, 1930 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of John and Margeurite (Ertzinger) Pierson. Don built a successful farming business and developed homes on the west side of Burlington.  His business prowess, dedication to hard work, and focus on his family were his trademarks. Don enjoyed playing cards and watching the Green Bay Packers in his free time.  Don's passion and commitment will be missed, but his memory will continue on through his family and friends. 

Don's family include his cherished wife of 66 years, Charlotte; son, Mike (Bonnie) Pierson; grandson, Nicholas Pierson; niece, Lora (Bob) Larrance; and brother-in-law, Stefan Ritzau.  Sadly, Don was preceded in death by his brother, John Pierson; and parents, John and Margeurite.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Pierson will be 11:00 am Friday, September 6, 2024, at Aspen Grove Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service will meet at the Sunnyside Avenue gate prior to the service for a procession to the gravesite.

Memorial contributions in Don's memory are suggested to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
