Donna Jean Newland, 89, of Burlington, died Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Oakview Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Burlington.
Born June 28, 1936, in Fort Madison, IA, she was the daughter of Everett J and Helen V Lile (Dahn). On February 16, 1957, she married Bobby G Newland in Fort Madison, IA. She was a charter member of West Burlington Christian Church along with her husband Bob. She enjoyed traveling, loved her church, watching her grandchildren play sports and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sisters; Marguerite V Lile of Burlington IA, and Betty (Ron) D Hillard of Burlington IA; her three children; Rhonda (David) VanRheenen of Pleasantville, IA, Michael (Christi) Newland of Kansas City, MO, Sara (Ryan) Oleson of Danville; and ten grandchildren, David, Taylor (Amber), Blake, Zachary, Valentine, Ephram, Annabelle, Cordell, Calysta and Owen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Lucile D Sommers, her sister Evelyn F Rash, her brother Everett J Lile Jr, her brother Raymond D Lile, and her brother in infancy Robert F Lile.
Donna's family will receive guests from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, April 10, 2026 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
The funeral service for Donna will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 11, 2026, at West Burlington Christian Church, 545 Melville Ave, West Burlington with Pastor Dean Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established for West Burlington Christian Church.
