Garrett Lee Rupe, 28, of Burlington, died at 9:43 AM Saturday, May 14, 2022, at his home.
Born December 20, 1993, in Mount Pleasant, IA, he was the son of Philip Lee Rupe and Angela Lynn Krieger Rupe.
Garrett had a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technologies from Iowa State University.
He worked for J&M Displays as a Transportation Manager.
Garrett was an old soul from birth. He always had an open ear, regardless of someone's age or their interests. He would be happy to talk and listen to everyone. He was an incredible friend to have, and you could always count on him being in your corner. He always greeted people with a warm smile, a big hug, and created happiness wherever he went. He had a free spirit and curious mind, eager to learn all that he could, and would research tirelessly anything that caught his attention. Garrett loved his family, and was a very proud and protective big brother. He touched many lives, and will be missed by countless people.
Survivors include father, Phil Rupe of Burlington; mother, Angie Rupe of Burlington; one brother, Marshall (Amanda) Rupe of Tiffin, IA; maternal grandparents, Barb and Jerry Krieger of Sperry, IA; paternal grandmother, Nedra Rupe of Danville, IA; and several extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jerry Rupe.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection for Mr. Rupe will be 10:00 AM Monday, May 23, 2022, at St. Mary's Church, Dodgeville with Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz as the Celebrant. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the Parish Center behind St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dodgeville, following the service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dodgeville, at a later date.
Cremation will be entrusted to the Prugh Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
