Georgia Thompson Obituary

Georgia Mae Thompson, 70 of Davenport, died at Danville Care Center in Danville, IA on Monday December 13, 2021. 

She was born November 2nd, 1951, in Sikeston, Missouri. She is the daughter of Pastor Marshall Henry Thompson and Leetta Thompson. Parents predeceased her.

Georgia was born and raised in Sikeston, Missouri. She later moved to Burlington and was a member at Union Baptist Church. Georgia was a care giver and maintenance for the YMCA in Davenport, Iowa. She enjoyed being with family, cooking, barbecuing, and shopping. She also enjoyed helping others. 

She is survived by one daughter, Vonsuere D. Thompson of Joplin, MO, one son Carlos B. Thompson and daughter-in-law Sheila R. Roberts of Rock Island, IL, one brother Iva “Ricky” Thompson of Burlington,IA , two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Webb of Fort Madison, Clezal Thompson of Waco, Texas, special nephew, Willie “Benard” Wilson of Fort Wayne,IN, eight grandkids, several great grandkids, and several nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, John Webb, Marshall H. Thompson Jr., Marshall W. Thompson, Reverend Oliver Thompson, and Tommie Lee Thompson; and three sisters Betty Jean Wilson, Georgia “Francis” Thompson, and Juanita Stewart. 

The funeral service for Mrs. Thompson will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Lawrence L. Manson officiating.  Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery following the service.
