Harry Eugene Bolander, 71, of Wapello, died at 4:23 AM Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Keosauqua Health Care Center in Keosauqua, IA.
Born August 7, 1949, in Hopper, IL, he was the son of James Henry and Sadie Helen Waterman Bolander.
He was a 1967 graduate of Burlington High School.
Harry worked as a welder for Modern Welding for 25 years before his retirement.
He enjoyed going to auctions to find new treasures. He loved the outdoors; gardening, fishing, rock collecting and coaching baseball, were just a few of his hobbies. Most of all, Harry loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Survivors include two sons, Charles R. (Dianna) Bolander of Wapello, IA, and Carl D. (Lisa) Bolander of Mediapolis, IA; one daughter, Tammy L. Carlson of Burlington, IA; seven grandchildren, Nevada Bolander, Walker Bolander, Timber Bolander, James Bolander, Buxton Carlson, Kinzer Carlson, and Rayce Carlson; three brothers, Thomas (Jean) Bolander of San Antonio, TX, Paul (Florence) Bolander of Burlington, IA, and Wayne (Sherry) Bolander of Burlington, IA; three sisters, Esther Reynolds of Burlington, IA, Ruby (James) Gott of Wapello, IA, and Hazel (Wayne) Dixon of Burlington, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, James, Albert, John, Richard, and Dan; and one sister Betty Brockett.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The Celebration of Life for Mr. Bolander will be Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Briggs Civic Center; 317 N Water Street, Wapello, IA. Burial will be in Carman Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established.
