Helen Louise Cooper, 88, of Burlington, died Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the Azria Health Care Center in Mediapolis.
Born September 7, 1934, in Fife Lake, MI, she was the daughter of Raymond and Bertha Ouderkirk. On September 13, 1950, she married Frank Warren Cooper in Vicksburg, MI. He died January 22, 2012.
Helen worked at the Iowa Ammunition Plant for about five years and Sylvania for two years. She and her husband ran a print shop for many years before their retirement.
She was a member Divine Mercy Parish and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was a seamstress, called Bingo, and loved her dog, as well as every dog, named Buffy. She enjoyed going to garage sales.
Survivors include children, Carol (Dennis) Fritz, Sandy Cooper both of Wever, Frank (Bonne) Cooper of Burlington and Pam Eversmeyer of League City, TX; 11 grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Joseph Cooper, four brothers, Deverne, Norwal, Edward, and William and one sister, Rosemary Scharphorn and four grandchildren.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
