Iona Louise LaVeine, 93, of West Burlington, died Monday, April 22, 2024, at the OakView Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Burlington.
Born May 22, 1930, in Oquawka Township, IL, she was the daughter of Elmer and Belva Ashby Tee. On December 20, 1955, she married Robert Edward LaVeine in Monmouth, Il. He died on January 27, 2015.
Iona taught Economics for Southeastern Community College in the 70's and 80's. She was also the owner and operator of LaVeine Rentals until her death.
She enjoyed reading and traveling the world after her retirement. She enjoyed staying at her winter home in Arizona.
Survivors include one son, Glenn (Connie) LaVeine of St. Peters, MO; three daughters, Leslee (Bill) Coons of Bartlett, IL, Cynthia (Avery Andrews) Allen of Canbera, Austrailia, and Barbara LaVeine of Burlington; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Karen (John) Parkins of Oquawka, IL; and two sisters-in-law, Becky Tee and Lois Tee.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, step-son, Michael LaVeine, and three brothers, Alvin, Allen and Ronald Tee.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
There will be no service at this time.
In lieu of flowers have been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
