James "Craig" Glasgow, 65, of Burlington, died at 12:48 AM Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born March 29, 1949, in Fort Madison, he was the son of James Craig Sr. and Loretta Ruth Coleman Glasgow. On April 7, 1973, he married Cris R. Bush in Burlington.

Craig worked at General Electric for 35 years. He retired in 2007.

He graduated from Burlington High School in 1967.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War from August 19, 1968 until April 1, 1971. He received the Bronze Star medal.

He enjoyed Sudoku, golfing, bowling, and watching sports, especially the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He cherished time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Cris; three sons, Eric (Kindal) Glasgow of Burlington, Kevin (Jaime) Glasgow of Davenport, IA, and Ryan Glasgow of Cedar Falls, IA; five grandchildren, Kayla, Karli, Lauren, Zoe, and Mason; his father, Jim Glasgow of West Burlington; his mother, Loretta O'Reilly of Middletown; three brothers, Ron (Marcia) Glasgow, and Russ (Amy) Glasgow, both of Burlington, and Brian (Debbie) Glasgow of Bolingbrook, IL; two sisters, Rosalind (Warren) Zick of Tampa, FL, and Lois Glasgow of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2015, at Thielen Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Mr. Glasgow will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Thielen Funeral Home with Minister Chuck Gorsch officiating and full military honors rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Thielen Funeral Home following the burial.

Memorials have been established for the Mississippi Valley Veterans Memorial and Great River Home Health Care and Hospice.
