James Alan Ullrich, 84, of West Burlington, died at 10:28 PM Thursday, August 26, 2021, at his home.
Born September 27, 1936, in Ft. Madison, IA, he was the son of Russell L. and Marcella R. Miller Ullrich. On December 15, 1962, he married Janet Kay Beebe in Ft. Madison.
He worked in paper production for Georgia Pacific, Simpson Safety Paper of Burlington and Midwest Wax Paper in Ft. Madison, retiring in 1997.
He was a 1955 graduate of Ft. Madison High School.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War from June 1, 1955 until June 1, 1958.
He was of the Catholic faith. He loved to be outdoors, and enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing.
Survivors include wife, Janet Kay Ullrich of West Burlington three daughters, Rebecca L. (Edward) Houser of Fulton, MO, Barbara A. (Rick) Burkett of Farmington, IA, and Karen S. (Dwight Moody) Taylor of Washington, IA; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one on the way, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Albert and Richard Ullrich.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service for Mr. Ullrich will be 11:00 PM Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Fr. James Flattery as the Celebrant. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Alzheimer's Association.
