Jeff Denz

Jeffrey Edward Denz, 60, of Burlington, died Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at his home.

Born August 13, 1962, in Burlington, IA, he was the son of Robert Edward and Darlene Mary Meierotto Denz. On July 17, 2002, he married Lori LaFrenz and had a daughter together. They later divorced.   

Jeff graduated from Aquinas, now Holy Trinity, in 1980 then attended Southeastern Community College and received his Robotics Degree. 

He was currently working as a lineman for Alliant Energy and has been with them for over 30 years. 

Jeff was a Steward for the IBEW 204 Union and supported the ABATE of Iowa. He was a motorcycle and car enthusiast and enjoyed going to car shows. Jeff enjoyed spending time with his friends and played in pool leagues. He liked guns and enjoyed hunting. Jeff was a very ornery guy and loved to pick on his friends and loved ones. Jeff was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his mother, Darlene Mary Denz of Burlington; daughter, Kallie Rose Denz of Middletown; sister, Julie (Richard) Denz-Harman of Niota, IL; brother, Alan (Valerie Velho) Denz of Burlington; four nieces, Kaitlyn and Dakota (Jake Karber) Brouwer, Samantha and Alexis Yenney.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lori Denz.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM following a 4:30 PM Rosary Service Monday, March 27, 2023 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Mr. Denz will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Divine Mercy Parish-St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz as the Celebrant. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.
