Jerry Lee Miller, 82, of Burlington, died at 9:19 PM Friday, September 10, 2021, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born June 23, 1939, in Burlington, he was the son of Walter and Irene Rubash Miller. On January 27, 1967, he married Margie Irene Ward in Davenport, IA. She passed on March 11, 2020.
He was a land surveyor for 63 years, working for Sherman Smith & Associates, Smith Engineering, and Klingner & Associates over the course of his career.
He was a member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors, the Society of Land Surveyors of Iowa, and the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association. When not surveying, he enjoyed traveling, and spending time with his wife, family, and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin (Terri) Johnson of Yarmouth, IA, and Jeff (Tammy) Miller of Burlington; three daughters, Demaris (Kevin) Luttenegger of West Des Moines, IA, Teresa Vahle of Ocean Springs, MS, and Pamela (Rick) Haar of Minneapolis, MN; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The Celebration of Life will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
