Jerry Lee Murrell

Jerry Lee Murrell, 75, of Burlington, died at 8:43 PM Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at his home.

Born January 1, 1946, in Bloomfield, IA he was the son of Evans and Cleo Nelson Murrell. On June 29, 1969, he married Sonya Jean Kirchgassner in Burlington. 

He worked in production for Exide until their closing, and also worked at Leopold's and Walmart.

He enjoyed playing golf and going bowling. He also loved to play pool and played on the Paddlewheel Pool League for many years. He liked watching all sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was a great provider for his family, whom he loved very much.

Survivors include his wife; Sonya Jean Murrell of Burlington, one son; Cory Evans Murrell-Walston of Burlington, two daughters; Sheri Lake and Cindy Krieger both of Sperry, IA, seven grandkids and seven great-grandkids, three siblings; Iris Louise of Burlington, John Robert (Helen) Murrell of Bloomfield, IA, and Judy (James) Abbott of Haywarden, IA, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son; James Lake, one son-in-law; Jerry Murrell-Walston, and one niece; Michelle.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Per Jerry's wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
