John Duttweiler Obituary

John Neil Duttweiler passed away November 14, 2023 in Mt. Pleasant, IA, surrounded by his family. He was 64 years old.

Johnny was born February 26, 1959 in Washington, Iowa, the son of John C. and Marjorie (McKay) Duttweiler. Johnny was a beautiful soul with a smile that would consistently win folks over. He had a passion for life. He loved music and his guitar. He liked chocolate milkshakes and French fries, and spending time drawing. Johnny also loved the Boy Scouts, Special Olympics and bowling. More over he loved fishing and spending time with his family. His sense of humor and infectious laugh will be missed by all who loved him, but his memory will live in our hearts forever.

Johnny’s family includes his cherished mother, Marjorie; siblings, Deborah (the late Ira) Stewart of Burlington, IA, Laura (Kim) DeBower of Apopka, FL, and Kenneth Duttweiler of Burlington, IA; several cousins; and three generations of nieces and nephews.

Sadly, Johnny is preceded in death by his father; grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Prugh Funeral Service.

A memorial service celebrating Johnny’s life will be held in the spring. Further details will be posted when they become available.
