Joshua S. Meek

Joshua S. Meek, 40, of Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born February 23, 1986, in Hanford, CA, he was the son of  Wendy Corrine (Meek) Cooper. On July 13, 2024, he married Hannah Steffanie Myers in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. 

He was a 2006 graduate of Mt Pleasant High School. He attended Iowa Wesleyan College for his computer science degree.  

Joshua worked for many local businesses over the years and was recently pursuing his dream of starting his own gourmet hot dog business.

He had a passion for cooking, computers and enjoyed creating things with his 3D printer and gaming with his friends. Joshua also loved forging and had a blacksmithing station at his home, where he enjoyed working and creating something from nothing. Most of all, he loved his family, friends, and his community. 

Survivors include his wife, Hannah; mother, Wendy Cooper; his siblings, Justin Meek and Kimberly Meek; his nephews, who were more like sons to him, Dominic Meek and James Miller; father-in-law, Shawn Twyman; mother-in-law, Marilea Reusch-Twyman; sister-in-law, Nichole Jayne; brother-in-law, Zane Myers; aunts and uncle, Alesha (George) Barber, Steve (Michelle) Meek, and Michelle (Walt) Stratton, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harvey Meek and Dorthy Meek McGee, an uncle, Jeffrey Meek and father-in-law, Anthony "Tony" Myers.

The Celebration of Life for Joshua will start at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Saunders Park, TTT Shelter in Mt. Pleasant. To honor Joshua's passion for cooking the family asked everyone to bring their favorite dish for a potluck style meal.
