Joyce Williams

Joyce Colleen Williams, 81, of West Burlington, died Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the  in West Burlington.

Born July 27, 1944, in Ottumwa, she was the daughter of Manuel Alan and Alma Mae Davidson Surber. On April 24, 1964, she married David LeRoy Williams in Kirksville, MO. 

Joyce worked for 23 years for Excide Battery Company.

She loved working in the garden, reading, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Michael Bishop of Burlington and Julie (DeWayne) Upton of Greenveille, TN; two step-daughters, Linda Long and Teresa Dotson of MO; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, David, Mark and Terry Williams, two step-daughters, Kathy Sedore and Betty Jo Findlay, five brothers and two sister.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be no formal services.
