Juanita Chapman Obituary

Juanita Pearl Chapman, 93, of Burlington, died Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born July 6, 1930, in Ottumwa, IA, she was the daughter of William and Margaret "Maggie" Young Clark. She married Charles Burt Chapman Jr. He preceded her in death.

Juanita worked at LaMont and the Burlington Basket Factory. But her most important job was being a mother and homemaker.

She was a member of the Eagles Club and Moose Lodge. She enjoyed cross stitching, going for walks all over Burlington, playing BINGO, going to yard sales and watching TV. Juanita always loved music and liked to go dancing - especially the Jitterbug. Most of all, she loved time spent with her family.

Survivors include her children: Rick (Jeannie) Chapman, Steven (Nan) Chapman, Diane (Jim) Dixon, and Connie (Jeff) Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barb Hester, and Ethel Wills; one sister-in-law, Charlene Clark and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, step father, John Schafer, four children, Terry Burch, Linda (Tim) Harmon, Gary Chapman, and Randy Chapman, one brother, Bill Clark and two brothers-in-law, Larry Hester and Charlie Wills.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
