Kevin Selters, 69, of Pontoosuc, Illinois, died Monday, September 21, 2026, at Great River Medical Center in Burlington, Iowa.
Born May 21, 1957, in Burlington, IA, he was the son of Lawrence and Eudora (Ward) Selters.
Kevin served four years in the United States Air Force. He later would work as a Correctional Officer for the State of Iowa for over 33 years.
Kevin was always willing to help others around him. He enjoyed socializing with his friends and family, and was quick to offer a story or joke to keep people laughing. As an avid outdoorsman, he was happiest when he was out duck hunting or fishing; and many trips were made to Ontario, Canada, for fly-in fishing with his family and friends.
Kevin also enjoyed practicing his marksmanship while trap shooting, and had an extensive collection of vintage Cub Cadet lawn tractors. He loved his family deeply and will be sincerely missed.
Survivors include wife, Denise Murphy; brothers, Kerry (Laurie) Selters, Kent Selters, and Kenneth Selters; nephews, Bryan Selters, Anthony Selters, and Garrett Selters; aunts and uncles, Anita Selters, Harriet (the late Bill) Crawford, Raymond Ward, and Ernie (Penny) Ward.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents; uncle, Rex Selters; and aunt, Weldon (Venita) Selters.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Friday, October 9, 2026 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street, Burlington.
