LaDonna Hanson

LaDonna Hanson, 75, of West Burlington, died at 3:08 PM Saturday, January 2, 2021, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.

Born August 3, 1945, in Macomb, IL, she was the daughter of Manford (Connie) Settles and Marjorie (Robert) McMillan. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1963. On leave from his military service in the Gulf of Tonkin, LaDonna and Paul Rudolph Hanson II were married on August 10, 1963 in Burlington. They celebrated 57 years of marriage.

LaDonna worked as a medical secretary for Orthopedic Surgeons.

LaDonna loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed arts, crafts, woodworking, and loved to paint and draw. She enjoyed boating on the Mississippi, traveling, and gambling. 

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Jesse (Jackie) Hanson of Eldridge, IA, Lonnie (Michelle) Hanson of Wever and Dusty Hanson of Burlington; six grandchildren; two brothers, Jim (Marie) Settles of Keosauqua, IA, Rick Settles of Sigourney, IA; one sister, Teresa Hoeschen of Arvada, CO; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Manford Settles, mother, Marjorie McMillan, and her step-father, Robert McMillan.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Due to Covid-19 concerns, there will be no visitation or services at this time.

LaDonna's family greatly appreciated the care she received at the Klein Center and a memorial has been established for the Stony Hollow Wing at the Great River Klein Center.
