Obituary

Lauryl "Laurie" Hanneman, 63, of Burlington, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at her home.

Born September 20, 1959, in Sioux City, IA, she was the daughter of M. Frederick and Nola Olive Harrison Johnson. On December 8, 1979, she married Geary Hanneman in Phoenix, Arizona. 

Laurie worked for Target for 29 years before retiring. After her retirement, she worked for Hobaica Services. She was an accounts payable specialist for a couple of years. 

Laurie enjoyed crafting, shopping and cooking. She made the best rum cake. 

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Geary Hanneman of Burlington; eight siblings, Judy (Andrew) Baker of Oklahoma, Cynthia (William) Will of Merritt Island, FL, Thomas (Beverly) Johnson of Oro Valley, AZ, Jackie (John) Christofferson of Oquawka, IL, Kathy  (Wayne) Eaton of Gulfport, IL, Yvonne Carr of Virginia, Lori Carr of Hutchinson, KS, and Linda Henderson McHale of Colorado.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Hanneman.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
