Linda S. Elmore

Linda S. Elmore, 73, of Burlington, died at 1:27 AM Sunday, May 30, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Born October 18, 1947, in Burlington, she was the daughter of John Henry and Doreen Marian Brockelman Elmore. 

She was a 1965 graduate of Burlington High School. 

Linda worked as a cashier for Texaco and Casey's General Store, where she retired in 2008.

She attended Bethany Lutheran Church. She loved to sew, make crafts, and crochet. Linda was a huge fan of the Burlington Bees and enjoyed watching Baseball and Football. She made friends everywhere she went and she never knew a stranger.

Survivors include her children, R. Mark (Jennifer) Sawyer of VA, Karen Lyn Sawyer of Burlington; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild with one more on the way due next month; two brothers, Thomas "Tom" (Geri) Elmore of Burlington, Dennis (Barb) Elmore of West Burlington; and one sister, Marcia (Dave) Walker of Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Martha Elmore, brother Max and his wife, Paula.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be no visitation or services.

A memorial has been established for Bethany Lutheran Church.
