Linda Ann Murphy, 83, of Burlington, died Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the OakView Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Burlington.
Born October 20, 1942, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Harold Fred and Mary Lillian Johnson Seaman. On February 28, 1964, she married Thomas Rankin Murphy in Fort Madison, IA.
She graduated from Burlington High School and went on to complete two years of junior college.
Linda worked at Sylvania before she left to raise a family. She was a devoted mother who dedicated most of her life to caring for her family.
She was very creative, using her creativity from creating greeting cards and ceramic, to decorate storefront windows around town. Linda enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Cubs, raising many birds and learning about Abraham Lincoln by supporting the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, IL.
Survivors include her husband, Tom of Burlington; three sons, Christopher Thomas Murphy of Burlington, Michael Shawn (Nicole) Murphy of Chatham, IL, and Timothy Aaron (Steve Warren) Murphy of Springfield, IL; one daughter, Kelly Lynn (Dale) Johns of Burlington; two grandchildren, Daniel Murphy Johns, and Tara Lynn Johns; and one brother, James (Flo) Seaman of Gladstone, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Art Center of Burlington.
