Margaret "Peg" McCreight

Margaret "Peg" McCreight, 81, of Burlington, died Monday, January 8, 2024, at Bickford of Burlington.

Born March 10, 1942, in Henry County, IA she was the daughter of Merle and Mary Louise Haviland Wickham. On July 31, 1961, she married Michael McCreight in Mt. Union, IA. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1990.

She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and bird watching, and she liked to go antiquing. She loved her grandchildren very much and loved to spoil them. 

Survivors include her son, Scott (Jennifer) McCreight of Leawood, KS; daughter, Theresa (James) Abbott of Burlington; grandchildren: Aaron (Alyssa) Abbott of Burlington, Tara (Corbin) Folsom of Davenport, IA, Katherine McCreight of Lawrence, KS, and Alexander (Zixuan) McCreight of Fort Lee, NJ; great-grandchildren, Everlee and Caroline Abbott of Burlington; and brother-in-law, Duane Pins of Naples, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Cynthia Pins.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The funeral service for Mrs. McCreight will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 19, 2024, at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Carl Mann officiating.  Burial will be in Sheridan Cemetery in Mt. Union, IA.

A memorial has been established for Christ Episcopal Church.
