Margret Ann Kienast

Margie (Neff) Kienast, 64, of Burlington, died Friday, July 24, 2026, at her home in Burlington.

Born July 20, 1962, in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of Richard L. and Shirley (Pentecost) Neff.

Margie was an outgoing, kind, and sometimes ornery person.  She was very independent, and she took pride in that.

Having retired after 22 years as a press operator from Craftsman Press Margie enjoyed gardening, spending time with her dogs, going on motorcycle rides, making a variety of beautiful stained-glass pieces, laughing with family & friends as well as curb shopping making trash into treasure.   

Margie was an independent, competent, rambunctious, funny, fun-loving, free-spirited dog lover. There was not a stray that she would not bring home as a child stating, “look what followed me home.”

Although she was perpetually late, you could always count on her to be there for a word of advice. Famous for the line “look at that girl in the mirror” She held kindness in her heart and extended it to others where she could, especially her family and fur babies.

Short in stature but big in character, Margie will be missed tremendously.  She is gone too soon, however, will never be forgotten.

Survivors include her daughter, Corie Lillie; grandchildren, Janelle Sawyer and Chandler Tudor; great-granddaughter, Kyrah Davis; sister, Judy Dressler; nieces and nephews, Rachel Sturms, Crystal Deuitch, Emilea Neff, Richard Neff, Trent Sturms; and her fur babies Roxy and Willo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
