Mary Joan Reid, 77, of West Burlington, died at 12:30 AM Friday, May 20, 2022, at her home.

Born December 27, 1944, in Fort Madison, IA, she was the daughter of Charles Edward and Mary Catherine Cormick Bertlshofer. On July 17, 1965, she married Larry P. Reid in St. Joseph's Church in Ft. Madison.

She was a 1962 graduate of Central Lee High School.

She was a grain elevator operator for Twoneys for several years.

Joan was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. A homemaker at heart, she did everything she could to keep her house running smoothly. Most of all, she loved her family, and adored her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Larry P. Reid of West Burlington, IA; two sons, Patrick (Pamela) Reid of Coralville, IA, and Derek (Jennifer) Reid of Burlington; four grandchildren, Kaiti, Marcus, Liam and Melanie Reid; four siblings, Carol (David) Faeth of Eldridge, IA, Chuck (Karen) Bertlshofer of Ft. Madison, IA, Judy (Ron) Hunsaker of Burlington, and Ed Bertlshofer of Ft. Madison, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Debbie Burghoffer.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Per the families wishes, there will be no visitation or services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Ft. Madison P.A.W.S.
