Mary Lou (Price) Banks

Mary Lou Banks, 87, passed away on December 2, the year of our lord 2021 peacefully surrounded by family at the Southeast Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born November 19, 1934 in Ralston, OK, to Memory Ann (Montgomery) and George Andrew Price.

She was of Baptist Faith.

She worked 20 plus years at Elm View Care Center in house keeping and then laundry. She enjoyed mowing, and would regularly mow again after somebody did if it wasn't to her liking. She loved and grew wildflowers, and liked hummingbirds and small dogs such as chihuahuas and dachshunds. 

Her greatest love was her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, and would babysit and spend time with them every chance she got.

She is survived by two daughters, Georgia (Kenneth) Oetken of Burlington, Rosemary (Larry) Flaherty of Mediapolis, IA; one son, Tommy Banks of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Billy, Angie, Krystal, Mindy, Ashley, Lexi, Sammy, and Jack; and six great-grandkids, Seth, Cooper, Hayden, Luke, Kalen, and Hunter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons, one daughter, one granddaughter, three sisters, and three brothers.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Prugh Crematory.

The memorial service for Mrs. Banks will be 10:00 AM Monday, December 6, 2021 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Graber officiating.

Prugh Funeral Service is in care of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Southeast Regional Hospice House.
