Mary Lou Warth Obituary

Mary Lou Warth, 90, of Danville, was born May 22, 1931 in Burlington, Iowa to Oscar and Anna Belle James Laue. She entered eternal rest on July 12, 2021 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa. On October 2, 1950 she married Emil Henry Warth in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2003.

Many a kindergartener started their days with Mary Lou greeting them. Mrs. Warth proudly drove school bus for the Danville Community School district for over 22 years.

Mary Lou was a country living woman at heart. Her greatest peace and joy came from taking care of her home and yard. When she wasn’t mowing or tending to a large garden, you could find her sitting in her rocking chair enjoying a NASCAR race while creating beautiful quilts and crocheted items. Mary Lou was a unique seamstress and sewed her children’s clothes and later her grandchildren’s. She had a special eye for picking out fun fabric to make one of a kind outfits.  Mary Lou was a loving grandmother and always had the best cookies and home cooked meals awaiting those who visited. For many years Christmas Eve was made memorable with special gifts for each of her family members.

Survivors include three children, Debora White of Fort Madison, IA, Dewane Warth of Danville, IA, and David Warth of Danville, IA;  12 grandchildren, Holly Warth of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mallory (Josh) Klindt of Swisher, IA, Tessa Warth of Denmark, IA, Hilton Warth of Riverside, CA, Skyler Troutman of Burlington, IA, Aspen Troutman of Fort Madison, IA, Layla (Jeremy) Ringgenberg of Ottumwa, IA, Dylan (Stephanie) Boecker of Waterloo, IA, Christine (John) Knapp of Danville, IA, Hillarie Warth of Burlington, IA, Adam Warth of Salem, IA, and LouAnn (David) Bruster of Fort Madison, IA; 17 great-grandchildren, one brother, Richard (Bernice) Laue of Burlington; one sister-in-law, Doris Johnson of Burlington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, and one son Daniel Warth.
