Michael Parrott Obituary

Michael Lee Parrott, 53, of Burlington, died at 7:55 AM Sunday, January 16, 2022, at his home.

Born July 25, 1968, in Iowa City, IA, he was the son of Dwayne and Sharon Bond Parrott.

He was a graduate of East Union High School in Afton, IA. After high school, he joined the United States AirForce until he was discharged.

When Mike was young he worked for many Dairy Farms around the Ottumwa and Des Moines Area. For the past 15 years, he has worked for Winegard in Burlington.

Mike enjoyed outdoor activities such as trapping, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed going on adventures and wanted to travel the whole Mississippi River on a house boat. He was an avid reader, with his favorite being old westerns. He was an excellent cook and always had the news appliances.

Survivors include his parents, Dwayne and Sharon Parrott of Afton, IA; two brothers, Christopher (Megan) Parrott of VA, and Todd (Lisa) Parrott of WA; one sister, Traci (Josh) Earl of Osceola, IA; nephew, Nick Parrott of Springfield, MO, and several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncle, Robert Thompson.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be no visitation or services.
