Mildred Ceacle Winchel

Mildred Ceacle Winchel, 96, of Burlington, died Friday, December 20, 2024, at Savannah Heights in Mount Pleasant.

Born March 29, 1928, in Quincy, IL, she was the daughter of Finas Edgar and Ceacle Laney Britt Davis.

Mildred worked for Central Soya. She enjoyed flowers, playing in the creek, rock hunting and her cats.

Survivors include her son, William Gene Henson of Burlington; many grandchildren, including her granddaughter and caretaker, Melody (Tyler) Shimmin; many great-grandchildren, including November Payne and Angelica Keever; and many great-great-grandchildren, including Valek, Jensen and Millie; and sister, Vera Eastman of GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Don, Red, Wayne, Kenneth, Raymond and Edgar; four sisters, Sparky, Darlene, Rita and Mabel; four daughters, Elaine, Alberta, Tammy, Lila, one son, Lonnie Henson and one grandson, Mark Burr.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be no visitation or services.
