Patricia Ann Oltman

Patricia Ann Oltman, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 15, 2023. She was a recent resident of Greenfield, WI, moving there from Owensboro, KY where she lived for the past 30 years. Twenty of those years were spent with her best friend and companion, the late Gerry Trautner.

Patricia was born on June 28, 1935 in Muscatine, IA to the late George and Ernestine McFadden. She grew up in Burlington, IA where she graduated from Burlington Catholic High School and continued her education at St. Ambrose School of Nursing in Davenport, IA. There she met and married John Oltman and had four daughters. They moved to Milwaukee, WI then later to Chattanooga, TN where she earned her master’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Patricia and John then moved to Ellerbe, NC where they later divorced. Patricia moved to Albuquerque, NM for a short time then later settled in Owensboro, KY.

Survivors include her four daughters - Mayna (Jon) Foshey, Melissa Stearns, Shelley (Dave) Schram and Maureen “Rene” (Rocky) Moses; her three grandsons - Clayton (Nicole)Burlingame, Beau (Jeannette) Burlingame and Spencer Moses; three great grandsons - Barrett, Roy, and Darwin. Sisters - Marilyn (Jerry) Tobin, Anne Marie (Doug) Stewart, Brothers - Daniel McFadden and Joe (Eve) McFadden and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia had a huge group of wonderful friends. She brightened so many lives with her love and kindness. Everyone who met her loved and admired her. She brought a bright light to so many people’s lives.

She absolutely loved nature, feeding and watching her birds and looking at clouds and finding shapes in them. She had an amazing witty sense of humor and absolutely loved to dance. She will be missed so much.

The family wishes to thank the ProHealth Hospice team that cared for her in her final days. They are also very grateful for all the love and support from friends in Owensboro who were always willing to help her in times of need when her family was not able to be there.

A memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11 AM, Saturday, November 11 at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Paul's Catholic Church (508 N. 4th Street, Burlington).  Patricia will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery following a lunch at church. 

Memorial contributions in Patricia's memory are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105)
