Rebecca S. Sierra

Rebecca S. Sierra, 66, of West Point, died peacefully Thursday, February 4, 2021, at her home.

Born April 19, 1954, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Karl L. and Maxine E. Alliman Coleman. 

She worked as a childcare provider as well as a lab technician for several hospitals in Missouri and Iowa. She really enjoyed working as a lab technician.

She had a great voice and enjoyed singing karaoke and playing with local bands. Rebecca loved her horse Sekiowa and all other animals. She loved to be outdoors and spent a lot of time at lakes, going fishing and watching nature. Most of all, she loved her family. 

Survivors include her brother, Karl Lyle (Renae) Coleman, Jr. of Sperry; two sisters, Linda Kay (Ed) Hills of Carman, IL, and Carol Annette Coleman of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The memorial service for Ms. Sierra will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Graber officiating.  Burial will be held at a later date in Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.  

A memorial has been established for P.A.W. Animal Shelter in Fort Madison, IA.
